4 QUICK BRIDAL PREP TIPS
Here, at Moments by Bilal,we like to photograph your wedding day like a story unfolding, and for that reason, everything begins in Bridal Prep.
Tip 1 :
LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE IN THE ROOM
Usually, too many people in the room can distract from the ambiance. This is not just for photos or video but for the emotion of the day. Besides close family and the bridesmaids, there should be wiggle room for vulnerable moments to surface. Below is the same shot, 10 mins earlier. Everyone was taking photos, laughing, and having a great time -they just didn't know that they're "in the shot". It can be difficult to traffic so many people on such a time sensitive day so being preemptive is a recommendation of ours!
Tip 2 :
BRIDES, ALWAYS GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE FIRST
Our photography team usually shows up before the bride's makeup is done so that in the meantime, we can grab photos of the dress, ring, and details of the prep. Once we finish, we have to wait to take photos once makeup is on. We've found in the past that brides that wait to do their makeup later end up having their makeup off for the first half of the photos and this causes an inconsistency for the client.
Because of this, we recommend the bride doing her makeup first -this allows us to take photos for the rest of the day with her fully in her desired look.
Tip 3 :
KEEP THE ROOM CLEAN
I know this seems like an obvious statement but we have worked countless weddings where the brides get behind in schedule because the room wasn't ready to be photographed. Try to hang the dress in flattering places such as the photo above.
This shot above was able to be taken because the bride had her makeup ready before everyone was even ready to be dressed -this gave us the opportunity to capture this candid of her on the bed with all the dresses behind her. If the makeup wasn't ready, this shot wouldn't have taken place because the bride wouldn't want this shot without having her makeup done.
Tip 4 :
REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS HELP YOU
Don't be afraid to have your ladies doing everything and anything for you. They're their for you.
Getting shots of the bridesmaids and family helping with your dress, jewelry, and shoes is important for us to capture -we want you to remember all the love being expressed by everyone around you.
