BryanJ | Downtown Los Angeles

Bryan aka BryanJ, is an up-and-coming artist, who, outside of his own album work and touring, recently placed 4 songs on Charlie Wilson's new album. Outside of being one of the most talented singers I know, he's one of the happiest people I've ever met. His spirit, genuineness, and kindred heart, translated into some fantastic images that we captured together in downtown Los Angeles.

Location 1: LADWP Building

Location 2: Walt Disney Hall

Location 3: The Broad

Location 4: Lower Grand st.

Location 1: The LADWP Building -designed by John Ferraro

-

Built in the 1950s, the building offered some unique high-technology features in its time, in that, It was designed to utilize the pool surrounding the structure as part of the air conditioning system and to heat the building without the use of a boiler. Today, our studio uses it as a premier location for clients looking to get headshots, editorial portraits, and engagement sessions done with Los Angeles in the background, over the water.

Location 2: The Walt Disney Hall -designed by Frank Gehry

-

From the stainless steel curves of its striking exterior to the state-of-the-art acoustics of the hardwood-paneled main auditorium, the 3.6-acre complex embodies the unique energy and creative spirit of the city of Los Angeles and its orchestra. Thanks to the vision and generosity of Lillian Disney, the Disney family, and many other individual and corporate donors, Los Angeles enjoys the music of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and visiting artists and orchestras from around the world.

The Broad is designed by world-renowned architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler. Location 4: Downtown Los Angeles (lower Grand st.)

This is a little secret place that our studio goes to under The Broad & Walt Disney Hall. The street above opens up with patches of light, creating a contrasted dark background, making for a perfect background for an urban downtown Los Angeles photoshoot.
